Hello! This is my story.
I am principal coach and owner of Upstage Concepts and director of The Drama Academy. I have 27 years’ experience coaching students in the performing arts.
My passion for performing arts began at a young age. I completed my matric as a drama student at the National School of Arts. Highlights of my further training include Trinity College of London, Baxter Theatre Programme, Todd Farley International Mime Academy and Royal Shakespearean Theatre Company.
Upstage Concepts has seen great success in the competitive and professional arenas. Highlights include winning the Overall Top Institution for the National Eisteddfod for the past 5 consecutive years, and in 2015 I won the Overall Top Coach Award for South African Championships of Performing Arts. Many of my students have gone on to their own professional success in the performing arts and entertainment industry.
I have 7 years experience as the Head of Arts and Culture at Johannesburg-based private school. I have developed numerous drama, public speaking and performing arts curricula for schools, extra mural programmes, students with learning difficulties, pre-school programmes and home-schoolers.
My team and I stay abreast of cutting edge training methods and developments in the acting, public speaking and performance industry. I am an Advisor Member to the board of the South African Association for Talent, Modelling & Entertainment, The Kids and Youth Talent Festival and an accredited adjudicator for the National Eisteddfod.
